It has been a successful and history making first season for the Benedictine University Mesa women's soccer team and they made some more on Monday.
Tiana Pretzer was named California Pacific Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the first women's soccer player to be named Player of the Week in program history, the conference announced.
Pretzer, starting her first two games at keeper this season, made the most of her starts, pitching a shutout in both contests, racking up four saves in perserving a 0-0 draw with Marymount California on Friday, and then making another three saves in a 5-0 win over Soka on Sunday. Her efforst kept BenU Mesa undefeated to this point in Cal Pac play, with a 2-0-1 record.
Pretzer and the Redhawks are back in action on Thursday, taking on Mills College in California.
