An incoming Benedictine University at Mesa men's volleyball player had a standout tournament at the 2017 Boys Junior National Championships in Columbus, Ohio during the first full week of July.
Treven Clizbe, an incoming freshman from Arbor View High School in Nevada, was named to the All-Tournament team after leading his club to a third-place finish out of 65 teams in the 18 Club Division of the event.
Clizbe's team took an undefeated 9-0 record into the championship round of the tournament, winning their first round game before falling in the semifinals in a tough three-set loss.
He will come to BenU at Mesa a decorated high school player, being named Southern Nevada Player of the Year as a senior and leading his team to a 30-10 record and a Northwest League Championship. The 6-4 outside hitter tallied over 1,200 kills in his three years at Arbor View.
Clizbe will join a Redhawks program that was receiving votes for most of last season and hosted the NAIA Independents Qualifying Tournament.
